There’s not many people that DISAGREE with the idea that we need to reduce deficit spending, especially when we see the projected spending estimates of our current president. And despite the willingness of many families to rely on debt spending, most don’t want the government to do so.

But how can we reduce our national debt, and how can we concentrate on paying it off? Do we ever want to get to the point where we have zero red ink, or is some well-founded debt good for the economy and relations with other countries?

No politician wants to vote against a “good” program, even if there’s no money to spend on it…so what’s the solution?

I completely agree with the above comment, the internet is with a doubt growing into the most important medium of communication across the globe and its due to sites like this that ideas are spreading so quickly.

Enact HR 25, the FairTax
Yes, it’s only a FIRST STEP, but it’s a giant leap towards getting government back into citizen’s hands.  The Income Tax means that the Government has “a RIGHT” to waste a certain percentage of everything in the US economy.  If you work, they get their cut, because they have the power.  FairTax is the singlemost significant transfer of POWER from the government back to the people, in the history of our nation.  FairTax ENDS the IRS by REPEALING the 16th Amendment.  It REPLACES the withholding tax, payroll tax, corporate tax, individual tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, Alternative minimum tax,—IN FACT, ALL FEDERAL TAXES!  You take home your whole GROSS pay, every cent! Just like a 25% instant raise.  You only pay TAX one time, when you purchase a NEW product.  Used goods are not taxed.  And, FairTax UNTAXES EVERYONE including the poor by reimbursing in advance (ie the monthly Prebate) the tax payable on basic necessities like food, meds, and housing costs, etc.,— You could net a zero annual tax, OR ACTUALLY MAKE MONEY if you want to live cheap.  But most of us like to buy “stuff” for fun. so every penny of tax is on the receipt to see plainly.  You pay, when YOU say!  Don’t “settle” for the polititian’s lie about a FLAT tax—they’ll UNflatten it when they please, and you will have no say in it.  FairTax IS THE REAL “flat-rate consumer controlled” tax, putting you in the seat of power.  Google around, there’s LOTS of info out there, or go to the source http://www.FairTax.org for answers.  Get involved with this grass-roots citizen initiative, by signing the petition!
